L'histoire se déroule à l'époque Joseon. Hong Cheon Ki est une femme peintre dotée d'un talent pictural digne d'un génie. Elle est choisie comme la première femme peintre de la Dohwaseo (Académie royale de peinture de Corée). Hong Cheon Ki a également une belle apparence et une personnalité brillante. Pour elle, la peinture est tout. Un jour, elle rencontre Ha Ram.Ha Ram est un officier du Seowoongwan, un bureau chargé de l'astronomie, de la géographie, de l'art de la divination et de la météorologie. Lorsqu'il était jeune, un accident l'a rendu aveugle. Hong Cheon Ki tombe amoureuse de lui et elle ne se soucie pas qu'il soit aveugle. Hong Cheon Ki ne cesse d'apparaître devant Ha Ram et il se retrouve à l'attendre.
