Chère Martha
Martha Klein est la chef très respectée d'un restaurant dont la réputation n'est plus à faire. Mais cette cuisinière talentueuse n'est pas aussi brillante quand il s'agit de gérer des conflits humains. Qu'un client vienne se plaindre, ou tente d'émettre un avis sur l'un de ses plats, et Martha rentre dans une colère incontrôlable. Toute sa vie pourrait se réduire aux murs de la cuisine de son restaurant, si sa soeur ne venait à mourir dans un accident de voiture, laissant seule Lina, sa fille de 8 ans. Martha se retrouve en charge de l'enfant, qui fait preuve d'un caractère bien trempé. Les relations entre les deux parentes sont particulièrement tendues, jusqu'à l'arrivée de Mario, un nouveau cuisinier...
